Fascinated by investing from an early age, Jon received a Bachelor of Finance degree from the University of Utah in 1989. After graduating, Jon worked as a software engineer for Equis International (a Reuters Company), creators of the award-winning MetaStock investment software. While at Equis, he co-founded the mighty Piranha Investment Club, giving him his first taste of helping people manage their investments. After seven years at Equis, Jon left to start JD Investment Management in 1998.
At the end of his first year in business, Jon managed just over $1 million. As of the end of 2023, assets under management has grown to over $20 million.
Jon spends his spare time hiking and fishing all over Utah with his wife and three sons.
